Carry out your own research to find an interesting natural structure of the Earth. You should:

P7 - Week Beginning 15 Nov 2010

WELCOME BACK
This is a very busy week - We have two special visitors this week.

  • Ian Murray - MP for Edinburgh South, Fri 19th
Thursday 18th - back by popular demand - Buckstone's Got Talent, by Wednesday 17th P7 needs to have selected two groups to represent them in the final.
Friday 19th is also a Non Uniform Day - The pupils have asked to wear something Spotty and/or Stripey. The children can make donations to Children in Need.

Language - Summarising Skill

Language - Summarising Skills/Functional Writing
Having been to Lagganlia you will have an excellent knowledge of what makes it such a wonderful place to visit.

You task is create a pamphlet which sells Lagganlia. The pamphlet should:
  • Be based on A4 paper/card (folded as required).
  • Have a heading.
  • Use sub-headings.
  • You might use a catchy slogan.
  • Be clearly set out (in a logical way).
  • Contain information relevant to the audience.
  • Be eye catching -(attention grabbing pictures)
  • and well organised. 
You might what to include some details 'summarised' from the Lagganlia website - http://www.lagganlia.com/index.html and some comments from visitors (ie you and your friends) about the 'fun' time you can have.

We will be looking at Money. Each group has been given 1 activity in studyladder (the new name for smartkiddies) to help us understand our knowledge on money.


Many of you often have the opportunity to go on holiday aboard, You will have noticed that you do not use UK Pounds, or pence to pay for goods. Your task is to find out what coins and notes are used to make up the Euro (the currency used in many European countries). You should include pictures of the coins or notes.

VE DAY -

    Your task is design and manufacture a board game for 2 or more players based on the theme of World War 2. You will need to think about:
    • What the objective of the game is - how do you win?
    • Create Rules for the game (keep them simple).
    • What materials to make it from so that it is durable.
    • Designed so that it is eye catching.
    • Have a 'powerful' name.
    • How it can help the player discover information about World War 2.
    • If there is any interaction between the players such that a player can gain an advantage.
    • Will the game have a beginning, middle and end (like a great story)?
    • The game must be FUN!
    NOTE - You have 2 weeks to complete this activity.
    You will have the opportunity to play your game with other members of the class.
