- To check your reading plan, you will be expected to have completed your book in the next 3 weeks.
- Create a prediction on what you think will occur at the end of the book - based on what you have discovered - remember to give evidence (with page number) to support your thoughts.
- Identify a particular part of the story where the writer has used a language technique eg:
- alliteration - repetition of sound eg. Big Blue Bike.
- onomatopoeia - sounds like what it refers to eg. Pop, Bang etc.
- Personification - giving human qualities to something lifeless eg. The door squeaked.
- Metaphor - something is said to be something else eg. You're a bear.
- Contrast - to show difference when comparing
- Smiles, - to show how something is similar eg Like/as.
- Short sentence
- Why do you think the writer used this?
- If you cannot find any of the above, then you should create 2 of your own and state where in the book you would advise the author to add them.
